Apple introduced the Oceanic+ application. This app helps Apple Watch Ultra owners to use it as a diving computer.
In September, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Ultra as a durable and rugged product. One of the first scenes shown during the live broadcast of the introduction of this smartwatch was a video of the device landing in the water.
The screen of the Apple Watch Ultra in the mentioned clip showed the ambient water temperature and depth. The Cupertino-based tech giant has now introduced the Oceanic+ app for its high-end smartwatch, A program that turns this product into a computer for divers.
According to GSMArena, the Oceanic+ app was designed in collaboration with Apple and Huish Outdoors and allowed users to access relevant information while diving. It is possible to use Apple Watch Ultra underwater up to 40 meters deep, and this product also uses a depth detection sensor and water temperature measurement to collect additional data.
If divers descend or ascend too quickly, Oceanic+ warns about the estimated time to return to the surface. The app allows divers to set the compass direction underwater and consider tides, temperature, visibility, and water currents before diving.
