Finally, android 11 is being mass release for others companies, if you remember in the last articles we mentioned that in the first wave of releasing Android 11, the first phones to get this update was the google phones, which are google pixels, however even if the google pixels were the first phones to get the update, the update arriving at the phone wasn’t quite the same. Some of them had differences in details, flagship models got more features and some extra options due to their capability and higher hardware supports.
If you’re using the flagship phones that are 2 or 3 years old, the Android 11 update will hit your phone around this week or the upcoming month, but since this update, didn’t change the majority of the interface of the OS, and its quit like the Android 10, some users might find it boring and don’t even try to get this update.
On the other hand, so many companies already have the features that the Android 11 tries to push to phones, companies like Xiaomi and Samsung with MIUI12 and ONE UI 3 have already offered the Android 11 features with minors updates to their flagship and even midrange phones.
Anyway, maybe some users and a little number of phones already have access to the new features but the main reason for releasing another new version of the Android is to maintain the phone security from newer and smarter male wares and viruses, the features and UI and interface changes are not the main subjects in the new updates.
In the Android 11 update controlling media, the section is no longer on the notification and moved to the Quick Setting boxes. Also with this changing now users have access to the media playing bar, which allows seeing the music or the media timeline and progress. While this is a really good chance in the notification section, a lot of users might get angry, due to this update the appearance of the notification is getting closer to look like the IOS and we already know IOS fans and Android fans, don’t get along well.
Also, there’s the ability to move from the apps that playing on the phone by swiping between them. Another feature of this new style media controller is, that it won’t deeper after the media is finished, but one little minor change that really satisfied us was the ability to resume the paused media from a little ago and start listening to it again.
It may sound weird to you to encounter two changes in the notification section in a new update, usually, we have just one major change in the notification section in Android updates. In this notification we also get to see the priority of the notifications, for examples: Conversations and social apps notification get higher priority by the usage of the user, if you use a social app more often it gets higher priority than wether or apps that are not very crucial to you.
In this matter, the OS needs to determine the difference between conversations and normal notifications, so the user must give the OS permission to read messages and notification, unfortunately in the beta version of the Android 11, some models didn’t support this feature, and some say this is due to the security policy of the manufacturer company to keep the data of their costumers safe.
The main subject, some SNS apps now support Bubble notifications, using this feature can provide the user to have small windows of contact everywhere around the screen and start a conversation whenever they want, some SNS apps like Facebook, had these features for a long time. But with the Android 11 update, this feature comes to almost every SNS application.
One of the new features of the Android 11 is the native video recorder, which we had for so many years in costume android versions, so users might also find this feature not very necessary unless you’re using the stock android version. But this native screen recorder is a little bit better than third-party applications that you might find in the google play store, the native screen recorder provides screen resolution between HD and FHD and also 30 frames and 60 frames per second option.
In the power menu section, with holding down the power key, we encountered three options, power off, restart, and emergency call, but after the Android 11 update now we see a new page that besides those three options also give us, a panel that we can control all of our smart things and gadget with it. This section comes with the name of Quick Controls and it lets the user manage their smart house. However, this part of the update wasn’t forced to be in all of the versions of android for example ONE UI or MIUI.
- Going back to the previous screen in Android requires a swipe in from the left or right edge. You can customize the sensitivity of this before, but Android 11 goes a small step further by letting you tweak the sensitivity on the left and right sides each. Hopefully, it means fewer accidental back swipes.
- There are 117 new emoji! That includes 55 new skin tones and lots of refreshed designs
