4 ways to discover new ideas for blog posts!

It can be said that as a content creator, your hardest job is to get new ideas for a blog post. Here we want to find out how to find new ideas for you, so stay tuned.

Ideas for blog posts

Content marketing is hard work. Anyone who thinks this is not a difficult task has probably either not done it yet or, if it did, did not use the right methods. But what seems difficult is finding an idea for a blog post. If you are in this position, do not forget the different ways of finding ideas for blog posts. Determining the right type and composition of the content can be difficult if you use strategy. But if your main job is content creation, I can confidently say that your hardest job is getting good enough ideas.

Blogger

If you’re an avid blogger and your experience is like mine, you can start producing content once you have a good idea. But there is a very important point: when do these ideas come to fruition? What brings these ideas to your mind?

Of course, the idea for a blog post does not come from “The Land of Ideas, Where Ideas Grow Based on Ideation.” But over the years, I have come up with many ways to come up with ideas.

1. Keep an eye on the content!

It would help if you found the right ideas everywhere. Having a content eye means developing your ability to find ideas for content everywhere. Even now, when I read something, watch a movie, listen to a podcast or attend a lecture, I have my eyes and ears on what I see and the other eye and ear to see and find ideas for blog posts.

I believe that almost any content can be a source of new ideas, even if they are not directly related to my subject areas. For example, the idea of having a “content eye” was originally inspired by “Sixth Sense.”

Someone else’s post

In one main scene, the little boy, played by Haley Joel Osment, tells Bruce Willis that he “sees the dead.” In other words, he can see things that have always existed, but most people do not. Many of my blog post ideas seem to come from here: I see an idea in someone else’s post that may not come up for someone else.

When looking for content, use the following tips to find ideas for your blog post:

Question everything. In general, the question of what you see is good. This way, you will no longer deceive yourself, and everything will be, in your opinion, an idea for a blog post. But it can also spark many new content ideas in your mind. When you want to read something, ask why it is so? How does the author know? What is left out here? Write down those questions and then consider them as ideas for a blog post.

Radar questions

Activate your questions radar. Not only your questions but also the questions of others can be a great source of ideas for content. Often in the comments below a post, I see some questions from other readers that go unanswered or are answered incorrectly.

If I know the answer (or can research to find it), instead of responding to the comments in the post, I write it down as something I should write about myself. In most cases, if one person has a question, many have questions, and you can eventually write credible, quality content that others can use.

What is a van chart?

Become a diesel van. Do you know what a van chart is? Even if you do not know about it, I’m sure you saw one of them. The van diagram shows two or more circles, each representing a set of things. The two sets are usually quite different, but some members belong to both sets.

Van chart to get ideas for blog posts

Most yoga instructors are not “Space Star” fans, and most “Star Trek” fans do not want to know about yoga classes. But inevitably, some people are in both sets and are in common.

What does this have to do with the idea for a blog post? In the following van diagram between the two parts, you can write about the two topics together. In other words, look for points of overlap between the two. But van intersections are not the only source of ideas for posts.

2. Be transparent in finding ideas for blog posts!

Another way to create content ideas is to look for issues, problems, and misunderstandings that you can resolve. If you specialize in the areas you are writing about, some people may still have problems or confusion in this area. It is better to be clear about it instead of just getting upset or making an angry comment.

It does not mean that your end product should be either rude or false. You can produce good content from such observations, content that shows you a better way or raises issues that no one has written about before.

3. Expand your horizons to find the best idea for your blog post!

I often talk to other content creators when they tell me they have trouble finding an idea for a blog post. I have seen that their interests are very limited, and they only study in the field of these interests. While being a little creative, they can easily generate high-traffic content.

“Thoughts on Art and Life,” said Leonardo da Vinci.

“By mistake, writers, you have removed the painting from the liberal arts because these works include not only works of nature, but infinite things that nature has never created.”

While Da Vinci had a particular problem in mind, the consequences of his vision were broader than imagined. Coming out of your haven strengthens your imagination, which is one of the most important things for a good writer. To get an idea for a blog post that ultimately leads to the production of valuable content, you need to be able to imagine “infinite things that nature has never created.”

Here is a personal example:

While reading the biography of the Renaissance genius by Walter Isaacson, I came across the Da Vinci quote I talked about above. As I developed the “content eye” theory, I realized that Da Vinci’s quote would also help you greatly. One of these plans may be for content creators, with the message that if they limit their interests, they will not be able to achieve what they want. I wrote the quote in my content idea book, and months later, I came across it in one of my posts.

Content Eyes

I advise you to do everything you can to improve your interests and the content you produce. If you only read or watch content about your area, you limit your creativity. Even while reading a book on neuroscience, watching a documentary about great historical developments, or even enjoying the last episode of “Rick and Morty,” keep your eyes peeled for the content and note How can you use what you see to generate content?

4. Show yourself!

All these ideas that have been said, if you do not use them, you will forget them all. Almost all great writers have a kind of notebook in which they write their notes. The shape of the booklet does not matter; It is important that it is always available and something that you can use easily.

Because I always have a digital device in my hand, I use Evernote. You may prefer another digital app for taking notes or a good old paper notebook and pen. The point is that you must habitually write down an idea for a blog post right away.

Evernote content

For example, as I mentioned above, I found it interesting to see that Da Vinci quote interesting. Even though I wasn’t quite sure how to use it to write a blog post at the time, I wrote it down in my Evernote Content Ideas office so I could analyze and use it later.

Post preparation

Months later, as I was preparing this post, I remembered this quote, which stimulated the whole “Expand Your Vision” section. Writing down these ideas is not enough to get good ideas for your content. You need to have a list of them in mind and review them to get the idea you want. Sometimes some of the ideas posted in “Van Chart” come from two completely unrelated notes I wrote.

Final word!

You may seldom come up with great ideas for your blog while sitting at your laptop. Even if it happens to you magically, you can not use it. As soon as you see content, more content and ideas will come to your mind, which means creating a new trend for it. What you need to know is to try to produce your content creatively. It will help you completely succeed in content production and produce great quality content.
