Paying attention to charging your iPhone with suitable cables or using a power bank can also be effective.

You can also always enable Low Power Mode or use airplane mode when the battery percentage is low to preserve the remaining battery.

However, if you’re using iOS 16, there are new ways to reduce battery consumption and thus preserve your iPhone’s battery for longer.

The two new iOS 16 features reviewed in this article consume iPhone batteries at different levels, and disabling them can save battery life. Alsoore, you can prevent apps from updating in the background or replace your iPhone’s batt to save money.

Remove widgets from your lock screen.

Widgets on the lock screen force apps to run automatically in the background and constantly update the information to display data like race scores or the weather on the devices. Since these apps run in the environment because the widget is always active, they constantly drain energy.

If you want to conserve battery life in iOS 16, removing widgets from the lock screen (and home screen) is best. The easiest way is to go to another lock screen profile, hold your finger on the existing lock screen, and select a lock screen without widgets.

However, if you want to remove widgets from an existing lock screen, press your lock screen, select Customize, then Lock Screen, tap the widget box, then the “-” button in front of each widget, and remove them.

Turn off keyboard haptikeyboard’sck.

Keyboard vibration while typing was recently introduced in iOS 16 as haptic feedback on the iPhone. Instead of hearing different click sounds, each key includes a vibration as tactile feedback, providing a more immersive typing experience. However, according to Apple, the same feature may also affect battery life.

According to Apple’s support page information about the keyboard, haptic feedback “may affect iPhone battery life.” There are no details on how much battery this keyboard feature consumes, but if you want to conserve battery life, it’s best to keep it disabled.

Fortunately, this feature isn’t on by default, and if you’ve enabled it yourself, go to Settings  >  Sounds & Haptics  >  Keyboard Feedback and turn Haptic off.

Although not released yet, live Activities and iCloud Shared Photo Library are likely to be two more battery-draining features in iOS 16.
